BISP Final response

Well 10 minutes ago he was in a meeting of two of his commanders and they were talking about making another crematorium to burn more bodies. When the mother comes in saying that Bruno is missing he doesn't just stand there he runs. I think he is thinking how easy his son was mistaken to be a jew. His mother is there on the other side of the fence just sobbing because her son is now gone. His father I think is taking a second glance at things like what are we doing here what are we doing to these people. They are no different then we are because his son was just mistaken for a jew just because he had a pair of stripped pajamas and wanted to see what life was like on the other side. How can they do this to these people this is such a terrible thing. How could you every live with this? His father is probably thinking that they should have never come here in the first place. He had that look that maybe he should have told his kids where they were and what was going on even though they might not have understood all the way then maybe he would have never lost Bruno. He is thinking that his son is now dead just like all the other jews that he has killed.

BISP-

I really like the book "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" I read it last year and I still enjoy it every time. Something that really hits me when I read this book is how bad they treat these people its not fair they are the same as us but in the eyes of Hitler they are far from the same. It is really sad to see all of this happen and it might even happen again with the whole Isis thing which should not happen be kind to others in this world. Its really cool that Bruno can make friends with Shmuel. If I was the son of Bruno's father I would hate him forever how could he do such a bad thing I wouldn't be able live with the fact that I helped kill all of those innocent people.

Matched- blog post #3

Is there a backstory that explains how the dystopian world in your novel came to be?  Is the backstory full fleshed out, or just hinted at?  Was that world that is lost more good, in people's minds, or much more broken and evil?  Is there any movie/book that you know that has a similar backstory?

This book makes me think it is very similar to the giver. It has the same type of thing going on but instead of being assigned a job in this book the are assigned a match. The match they will spend the rest of their life with they will get married to this person. At different ages they achieve different things. They are given bad food in their community but once they go to the banquet once they reach a certain age they have great food it is what they have all wished for and were looking forward to.

Most dystopian works present a world in which people are controlled in some way.  WHAT is controlled in the society in your novel? Think of other books/movies that exhibit controls similar to those found in your novel.

One thing that is being controlled in this book it that they are picked a match. That person they are with for the rest of their life first they get to know they then when the hit twenty they are able to apply for marriage. The one thing with Cassia is that she has two matches one is Xander who lives right down the road and are very good friends so they have an exception. Since she know everything about him they could get married.

Matched

How does your story begin?  Are we in the middle of conflict?  Do we get the background to the way things were previously?  How many pages have you read thus far and what are your predictions for what you think may happen in the next few chapters?

My story was very interesting in the beginning it got right into the story. I really like this book and I am glad I chose it. I'm only a chapter 4 but I can't wait to read more and see what happens next. This girl is at a very rough time right now she has just been matched with two guys instead of one. She was really nervous for the banquet because you never know who you are gonna be pair with .You also had to wear a fancy dress to this banquet. This girl was the only one who wore a green dress the most popular one was pink. One of them was her friend that lives down the street so they could be close to the marriage part of things but then later she is called and matched with another guy that she know nothing about. I think that she should pick Xander from just getting to know him we don't know a lot about Ky yet. She had just turned 16 so she is still young. After reading this book I think that I am going to read the other ones that come after it.

Our class discussion in class hit a lot of things on the head. If we all were the same it would be boring but then we wouldn't have to have the clique problems we have today. Those honestly don't get you anywhere in lie once you are done with high school all that is gone.We need to put an end to this and learn to stand up for people. In this school this year I find love does in the seniors and junior but the lower class men I don't see it. Because of my experience here I wanna switch schools its almost like leaving and going to the world of sameness. We would never have the problems we do today if everyone was the same.Us as people need to make the choice to put this to end. I wish I could walk into this school that wouldn't call me fake or judge me for what I struggled with last year. I can't wait till my high school years are over.

February 27, 2015- The Giver

I really enjoyed this movie I would recommend it to lots of people it makes you open your eyes. Living in the world of sameness is not the way that you want to live. All the popular groups now a days I would say is like the land or sameness you have to have certain things. If you don't have money then no you are not in that popular group. I agree with Koeman those things need to stop.. honestly they don't get you anywhere in the real world once you are out of high school. I have had plenty of things said behind my back but I put on the face that everything is fine. I leave it alone I don't let it get to mean because that is when it gets worse. If I ever had to live in the world of sameness I would have done what Jonas did I would change it. You need this world of love and showing love to others. Love does here at HC and I think that the seniors are doing a great job of doing that this year.

I just started reading little woman I picked this one because it looked the most interesting. We were handed an list that we had to choose from for english 2 and we have to finish it. We are gonna do a little project on it after spring break. I just started reading it so I don't know much about it or what is happening at this point. My sister has read this book in the past and she said that it was really good also it was a book we had at home. I hope to learn more about how they lived in that time and the things that went on in that time period.

Describe one thing you found most interesting?

I chose this question because in my book called Sophia's War there were a lot of interesting things that went on. The thing that I found the most interesting in this book was all the things that she did for her brother. In the book her brother had been taken as a prisoner. He was held on a prison ship she risked her life to bring him food and things that he asked her for. Then one day she leaves her family after her brother had died on the prison ship to go clean for this family. This family just so happens to be Andre which was a soldier that had staid with them for a while. She began spying and reading everything that was happening and would report to her parents. She had to be very careful for if anyone found out she would be hanged.

My partner is reading The flying farm boy. This kid has lived on a farm his whole life. The character in the story has a dream of flying. She is at the part right now when he had a snow day. He was excited then set out to his grandparents house.

I was reading a book called Sophia's War I really enjoyed this book. She became a spy in risk for her life because she wanted to know what happened to her brother since he was taken. She then leaves he parents to go work as a maid at the house of her old army crush that had staid with them. She was spying around his house then she found out he was a spy. Eventually at the end of the book she got him caught and he was hanged. This is what they did to people who spied they would hang them.
